How to market, sell and monetize your application

Chris will give an update on Bardowl progress to date. Share detailed information on the use of:

  • Paid digital advertising for app installs (FB, iAd etc)
  • PR
  • Social Media
  • Partnerships and Promotions

for getting people to install and then pay for your service within an application.

Testing Your App

Jim Thomas of Test and Verification Solutions will cover app testing in a mobile environment. How do you ensure your app, once developed, will run and perform as expected? He will address the important step of app testing in a mobile environment. He’ll cover:

  • common testing challenges
  • testing different aspects of your app
  • use of emulators and real devices, and
  • native, web and hybrid apps.

Chris Brook Bardowl

Chris is a technologist and entrepreneur. He creates great mobile services. The inspiration for Bardowl came from years of listening to audiobooks, knowing they could be delivered better. Up until Bardowl Chris worked purely in mobile, starting his career at Orange in 1997 and has worked at the most exciting mobile companies since, pioneering the mobile internet and apps ecosystems. Chris cannot believe his luck that his two passions of Books and Mobile have intersected as Bardowl. Chris plays an active roll in developing the Bath, UK tech scene organising events such as The Power of One, The Big M, openMIC, BathCamp and the Bath Digital Festival. Chris lives in Bath, has 2 children, has a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon-Do and supports Tottenham Hotspur. Chris tweets far too much as @bookmeister.

Jim Thomas TVS

Jim is Director of Software Testing at TVS, a Bristol-based specialist software test and hardware verification company that has developed a reputation for the high quality services since it was founded five years ago. He has over thirty years of experience in the software industry with a focus on high integrity software development and was previously Operations Director and Chief Technology Officer at IPL in Bath, one of the UK’s largest independent software development companies. Jim is keen to support the software testing community in the Bath and Bristol area – Intelligent Testing, the first software testing conference hosted by TVS in October this year attracted over 130 attendees with another 50 connected in via webinar.
